Beautiful luminous work by the Toulon painter Paul Levéré which represents the terrace of a fisherman by the sea. The artist was able to transcribe perfectly the light and colors of the Mediterranean and the South of France with a bright and contrasting palette.
A pupil of Charles Allard, Paul Levéré painted landscapes of Provence and the Riviera. He occupies a workshop close to the painter François Nardi on the quay of the Party in Toulon. Paul Levéré was appointed as a member of the Fine Arts Commission of the City of Toulon and then of the theatrical commission.
He then became a professor at the School of Fine Arts in the city of Toulon.
He took part in local exhibitions from 1910, presenting landscapes from the South of France.
In 1924, he was appointed painter to the Navy. He collaborates with the artistic magazine La Provence illustrées".
Dimensions: 33 x 46 cm without frame and 39 x 52 cm with its original wooden frame.
