Beautiful work by the Basque painter Louis Floutier which represents a display of flowers at the market of Saint-Jean- de-Luz. The artist brilliantly represented the multitude of flowers.
Louis Floutier received his first artistic training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, in the studio of the painter Laborde. In 1903, he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Paris in the studio of the painter Fernand Cormon.
He participated in the Salon des Artistes Français from 1905 to 1919. But also in exhibitions in Bayonne from 1923 to 1928 as well as in Pau, Limoges and Toulouse.
In 1919, Louis Floutier moved to the Basque Country and participated in the founding of the Poterie de Ciboure with Edgard Lucat and Etienne Vilotte, his brother-in-law. In 1922, the artist concentrated on Basque and especially Labourdin landscapes.
His works are critically acclaimed and highly valued by collectors.
Louis Floutier is today considered a major artist in the Basque Country. His works can be found in private and public collections.

The authenticity of the work has been confirmed by Mrs. Mary Anne PRUNET who produces the catalog raisonné of Louis FLOUTIER. A certificate of authenticity will be issued with the painting.
Dimensions: 73 x 50 cm without frame and 81 x 58.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
